Alphabet books. Creative books to learn alphabet.
When we were kids, learning didn’t use to be any fun. Memorizing everything, and reading a book that just says A with a picture of an “apple” beside it, is so not FUN!!
Now, thankfully, we live in a world where writers are forever finding creative ways to make the “learning” bit the “fun” bit.
So, here I come with 5 picture alphabet books, that are just super awesome to read aloud, and packs a full punch of fun in learning ABCs.

1. Dr. Seuss's ABC: An Amazing Alphabet Book!
This is an amazing book to read aloud. it goes like this:
Big A, little a, what comes with A?
Auntie Allie’s Alligator, A, a, A
If you have an audience of eager kids listening and repeating and guessing what comes with each alphabet, it makes the book reading even more awesome. When you read it, it almost sounds like you are singing a poem. The clever play with alphabets and alphabet sounds is simply amazing.
2. Chika Chika Boom Boom:
This book is a classic. It goes like this: A told B, and B told C, I’ll meet you at the top of the coconut tree.
This is another book that would be simply amazing to read aloud. The rhyming words and the colorful artwork makes it a favourite among kids.
The kids even like to dress up as this book. Read 21 costumes for book week to find out how adorable kids look dressed up as this book, and tonnes of other books.
3. Pirates Stuck at 'C': An Alphabet Adventure
Ohh, this one is so clever. It’s beautifully written, and the pictures are awesome. Your kids will truly get to dive under the big blue sea and learn their alphabet sounds on an alphabet adventure….
In this book, the author Brooke Van Sickle encourages the children to explore the alphabets in an extremely creative way. Every page is dedicated to a different alphabet. All the pirate characters and colorful illustrations will make this your child’s favourite “bedtime story”.
4. AlphaOops!: The Day Z Went First
In this book, as the name suggests: Z goes first, because he is tired of always being the last. Alphabets behave like strong willed children, always wanting to do whatever they want.
After a while, you may get confused about what alphabet goes first, but it encourages Alphabet recognition in a pretty creative and engaging way. The kids will love it because they would love all the drama that the alphabets created (because God knows how much drama they create themselves. Every. Single. Day. Ahaa!!)
5. Alphabet Mystery:
In this book, the lowercase alphabets have been personified. Little x gets upset and leaves his home, and all the other letters of the alphabet go along to find him before his mom’s birthday party.
In this book, the alphabets interact with each other, which encourages letter recognition and letter sounds. It also teaches an important life lesson that: everything and everyone is important. Even little ‘x’ because he is the only one who stands for kisses afterall!
