Water scoop and transfer activities come with loads of benefits for a toddler. They learn pretty important life skills i.e: scooping, pouring, transferring objects among many others.
I believe this activity to be one of the best amongst all the other scoop and transfer activities because it also has another purpose: Making bath time more fun, and enjoyable. This is an excellent activity for the summers and keeps the kids busy for quite a while.
More importantly, it will take you all of 5 minutes to set this up!!
Okay!! Enough small talk!!
Time for action!!
Step 1:
Gather all the bath toys (you probably won’t even need to do this if you have a toy scoop full of bath toys all ready to play with in your bathtub)
Step 2:
Now, grab that strainer from the kitchen. Wash it properly (ofcourse)!! Any strainer that has a handle and is big enough for the bath toys is good enough!
Step 3:
Fill the bath tub, scatter the toys and you are all set. Also provide a small bucket to collect fishes, frogs, whales, ducks and other bath toy animals.
Inspiration for this Scoop and transfer Activity:
We recently visited Parklea Markets, Sydney where there was an event going on. It was called Dinosaurs In Mall. There were loads of Dinosaur activities including excavation eggs, dinosaur riding and more.
They had this tub setup where kids were supposed to scoop and transfer the fishes into a bucket. My daughter enjoyed it immensely, so I decided to recreate something similar for her at home. Bath tub was the perfect option, and bath toys, being handy and available became the perfect objects to use for this transfer and scoop activity.
Here are some pictures of the Dinosaur show from Parklea markets:
Great activity, absolutely love water play for sensory activities, plus a new way to make bath time more fun!
