Reusable felt stickers for busy bag

Reusable Stickers for Busy bags

FUN Busy Bag Activity for Toddlers:

This reusable felt stickers for busy bag activity is simple to make, can be adapted to suit your needs (or the likes and dislikes of your kid) and can even be made into a fun learning activity by using it along with these fun Felt alphabets.

If you are planning a road trip (even a short one) and you have a kid who hates the car seat , then you need to plan for some busy bag activities ahead of time and save yourself a lot of headache. Infact, even if your child does sit in the car, and doesn’t throw any tantrums (Phew, I envy you!!), even then you need something to keep him/her entertained.

Because if you don’t, then you might have to hear all versions of “Baby shark” for an hour! Not that I don’t like it, but seriously! An hour!

P. S. I don’t like giving so much screen time to my kiddo. The lesser, the better!

So lets dive into this easy to make felt stickers busy bag activity that will keep your kid busy for a while. My baby girl loves stickers. I used to buy tonnes of those for her, until I thought about making these reusable ones using velcro dots. This reusable felt stickers busy bag activity is inspired by “twinkle twinkle little star” which is like my daughter’s favourite-st poem in the world.

What you Need:

  1. Felt sheets (black, yellow, white)> Buy online
  2. Cardsheet (Any colour. I used Blue)
  3. Velcro dots.
  4. Glue gun

What are velcro dots and how to use them?

Velcro dots are small velcro circles. They come in pairs. One circle will adhere to the other circle. So, when you want to join something, place a velcro circle on each side. However, one circle in a velcro pair is such that it will adhere to the felt sheet by itself. If you are using a material other than felt, then feel free to use both sides of the velcro dots.

Easy-to-Make Busy bag activity:

Step 1:

The method to make this reusable felt stickers busy bag activity is pretty simple. First, cut out the background. I used half of a black A4 sized felt sheet. You can use any colour you like. I used black to depict night.

Step 2:

Next, cut out felt stars with yellow, and a moon with white felt sheets.

Step 3:

Now use your hot glue gun to glue velcro dots (or small pieces of velcro strips-you can use command velcro strips too) to the back of your star stickers. Since velcro sticks directly to felt, I didn’t use the sticky end of the velcro. But, if you feel like you need to use the other end of the sticker, then glue that to your background.

Alternatively, you can sew the velcro strips/dots to the felt sheets.

Step 4:

Finally, I used a cardsheet on the back of my background felt, to make it easier to hold and play with. This step is completely optional. You can simply make a roll of the felt background along with the stickers and keep it in your “Busy Bag”!!

For older kids, I would suggest making these felt story boards by Buggy and Buddy.

These are super simple, and what’s more, you can adapt this idea to illustrate your child’s favourite book.

I plan to make one for “Charlie and the Chocolate factory” by Roald Dahl

Will definitely share a detailed post about how to make it, so if you don’t want to miss out, be sure to SIGN UP for our newsletter.
